Mental Health & Substance Use Therapy
Much of my 20 yrs in this field has been focused on adolescent, young adult, and family therapy. As our knowledge of psychology and behavior has evolved, it has become imperative to incorporate a variety of therapeutic approaches depending on the individual or family’s needs.
Areas of Specialty
- mental health issues
- unresolved trauma
- attachment
- family/social/relationship dynamics
- substance use / addiction.
Therapy may include the following techniques:
~ CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
~ DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy)
~ EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy)
~ ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy)
~ Psycho-dynamics
~ Motivational Interviewing
~ EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitizing and Reprocessing) Certified
Additional Behavioral Health Services
~ Mental Health and Substance Abuse Assessment
~ Wilderness Therapy Transitions
Many of the therapeutic techniques used are evidence-based, either adopted or adapted to be the most effective for the individual. The one exception to this flexibility is with EMDR. As an EMDR certified therapist, I have witnessed the benefits of adhering to established methods, while employing a variety of advanced techniques for different areas of desired benefit.
